Admission is free and open to the public. Ed Williams is the self-proclaimed "Forrest Gump of Literature." His life took a decided turn in 1995 when he bought a home computer and began writing down wild old stories about his upbringing in rural Juliette, Georgia. These stories, through an unusual series of events, were published in 1998 in hardback under the title, Sex, Dead Dogs, and Me: The Juliette Journals. After starting out in four bookstores in Macon, GA, Ed ended up being stocked nationally by the Books-A-Million chain. Ed's second and most recent book, Rough As A Cob: More From the Juliette Journals has already attained #1 Best Seller status for Southern-themed books on Amazon.com Japan, Canada, and Germany. He has twice appeared on the Georgia Public Radio program Cover to Cover, and has been involved in several literary festivals, banquets, and spoken for such groups as the Kiwanis International, Rotary International, and the American Advertising Federation. Recently, Ed helped form the G.R.I.T.S., Georgia, and Grizzard, Southern Humor Show which co-stars author of the best selling G.R.I.T.S. books, Deborah Ford, and Dedra Grizzard.
Established romance author Kristie Leigh Maguire writes: "Lewis Grizzard was my all time favorite Southern humorist. Ed Williams has now been added to my very short list of Southern humorists that I admire and enjoy. Who knows? He just may become my favorite if he keeps cranking out books like his first novel, 'Sex, Dead Dogs and Me' and 'Rough as a Cob'."
Ed Williams wrote over 200 "Free Wheelin'" columns and has more book, television and film projects in various stages of development. Excerpts from his material can be found on his web site: http://www.ed-williams.com For more information and questions about media coverage, please contact:
